I'm Tarczyn$ky. I paint.
Right now I'm working on Sampled — twelve portraits of the figures that made us. I asked people from my circle in Wrocław what shaped who they are: one reference from Polish culture, one from the Anglo-Saxon world. Rocky. Barbie. Piłsudski. Then I painted those figures my way — not as icons, but as something borrowed and worn for years. Lower Silesia, where I live, is a region rebuilt from scratch after 1945 by people who came from elsewhere and had to become someone new.
The deeper question underneath: is there such a thing as a fixed identity at all, or are we all samples of something larger, briefly arranged in a body?
I don't have the answer. The work is how I look for it.
I work in acrylics and spray, mostly figurative. I studied painting at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Before that I built things in tech for fifteen years. I don't think of these as separate lives. Just a different medium.
If something here moves you, write to me.
