Reggae Collection — three paintings. Three states.

You know that moment when a song hits and something in you just drops. Shoulders. Breath. The noise in your head. Not dramatic. Just a shift. Reggae does that to me. Has done it for years. Koffee. Chronixx. Protoje. Three voices. Three states I keep coming back to. Relief. Ease. Conscience. I painted them because I wanted that shift to stay somewhere. Not in headphones. On a wall. Where you can walk into it.

"Everyday is like a Friday." There are days when you need someone to remind you it's possible to feel light. This is that reminder. On a wall. Not in a playlist.

The youngest voice. The most certain. Something about that combination stops the noise. People who've seen this in a room say they feel it before they understand it. The hardest one to let go.

For the ones who need more than escape. Who needs something that speaks about the world as it is — and holds you accountable to it. This one keeps you in check..

Painted in Sokołowsko, a mountain village in southern Poland. Gothic hall. Old columns. Tile floor. The distance between Kingston and that room didn't matter. The frequency did.
